Out on a ‘Whim’?

An app is being trialled in the Midlands which would allow users to travel across different transport modes for a monthly fee. The app is called ‘Whim’ and it allows users to access a wide variety of transport services signed up to the scheme, which include local bus, coach, rail and car hire companies.

The idea behind the scheme is to encourage people to make use of more sustainable travel methods in their area by making it easier to use them all either as individual trips or in combination! The monthly fee allows users to save money, travel as much as they want and have access to a wider variety of transport modes. This could potentially open their eyes to other ways of travelling.

The app ‘Whim’ was launched in Finland last year, with Helsinki Regional Transport board adding their public transport services to the app. If successful in the Midlands the ‘Whim’ app could take the UK by storm, changing the way people travel and how they pay!

Could this be the future of paying for your transport? Check out the app by clicking here.
