Welcome to the Honeystones Resident Travel Plan Site. This page is intended to help you make the best travel choices in and around the area you live – be that shops, facilities or public transport.

Most of the information is provided through direct links to other websites, this ensures that the information displayed is up to date.

Your home is ideally located to the north west of Bourton-on-the-Water, within easy reach of a number of a number of different amenities in the village. These include a bus stop directly outside the site, a school within 400m of the site, located along The Avenue, a Co-op on Station Road, a Medical Centre on Moore Road as well as a number of cafés and shops in and around the centre of the village. Bourton-on-the-Water also boasts a lovely town centre area, with a pedestrianised waterfront area. There are also a number of pubs and restaurants located within Bourton-on-the-Water, giving plenty of options for things to do on any day of the week. The closest bus stop to the site can be found directly to the north of the development entrance on Station Road. This stop has a number of services running from it, with direct routes to Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Kingham, Cheltenham and Cirencester amongst others. Services from this stop are run by Pulhams Coaches, and full up to date timetables can be found on their website here.

Gloucestershire County Council have developed an app to allow for more accurate bus tracking. The app has been designed to assist anyone who might need to use it. Moreover, the app allows you to pinpoint the exact location of live bus information. You are also able to find your nearest 12 bus stops (within a 1000m radius), providing audible bus arrivals and departures. Both Kingham Railway Station (6.4 miles) and Moreton-in-Marsh Railway Station (5.1 miles) are easily accessible and are located near your new home.

Kingham Railway Station is reachable by local bus service 802 as detailed above. The 802 bus service has two additional services that run from Bourton-on-the-Water at 05:30 and 06:35 that allow for the connection to London Paddington via train. Trains from Kingham to London Paddington run approximately two hourly with a journey time of approximately 90 minutes.

Moreton-in-Marsh Railway Station is on the same line as Kingham and is accessible by local bus service 801. From Moreton-in-Marsh Station you can travel directly to destinations such as Oxford (30-40 mins), Worcester (45-55 mins) and London Paddington (2hours 30 minutes).


There are some great opportunities for cyclists in the Bourton-on-the-Water area, with the Cotswolds providing the perfect backdrop for a cycle ride – either on or off road! Cotswold District Council provides a handy webpage with lots of different routes to try across the Cotswolds, these can be found here.

The development is the perfect distance away for a short cycle ride into the town centre. Alternatively, North Cotswold Cycling Club offers the support for new or established riders to join their ranks and offer a number of different ride difficulties to accommodate any potential members. They offer young persons membership as well, offering something for the whole family.

Via Michelin will show you real time traffic flow in Bourton-on-the-Water – handy for when you are about to pop out and want to avoid any traffic!

The AA will show you incidents that have occurred within the local area. Helpful for letting you know which routes to avoid before you set off on your journey!

Gloucestershire County Council have a handy website that offers useful information for those wishing to use sustainable forms of transport, which can be found here. When using public transport, there are handy tools to plan your journey , find your nearest bus stop as well as accessing maps of the bus services that run in and around Gloucestershire. Furthermore, there is lots of useful information surrounding Park and Rides, in Gloucester there is the Waterwells Park and Ride, while in Cheltenham there are services that allow you to reach the hospital, the racecourse and the town centre.
