Your new home is located within the town centre of Amesbury, giving you easy access to the many facilities and amenities that are available! These include newsagents, takeaways, restaurants, pubs pharmacies, banks a supermarket and much more! Buses


Your closest bus stop can be found 50m to the west along Salisbury Street opposite the post office. This stop is served by the Community Transport South Wiltshire Amesbury Hopper service. HBA/B service which offers routes to Boscombe Down Monday-Saturday. This service offers a Red route and a Blue route both of which offer travel around Amesbury and to Solstice Park and back. Additional services can be found 160m away on Smithfield Street, opposite the library. This stop is serviced by Stagecoach services 5 and 8 as well as the Salisbury Reds X5 service, all of which offer routes to and from Salisbury and Swindon Monday-Sunday. Rail


Your closest station is Salisbury Railway Station which is located 13km away and is accessible via the local stagecoach bus service 8 as well as the Salisbury Reds X5 service. These offer frequent bus services with the average journey taking 35 minutes. This station is on a main line and offers frequent access to destinations including London Waterloo (1h32), Exeter St David’s (1h56), Chandlers Ford (42m), Romsey (23m) and Southampton Central (38m), with further infrequent services to Bristol Temple Meads (1h20). Cycle


If you fancy getting out and about on your bike, be that for your journey to the shops, for exercise or a leisurely activity, the map below provide you with information on your local cycle network.  The map below shows you the routes around your local area with the orange coloured routes representing suggested on road cycle routes.

An interactive cycle map can also be found on Sustrans, which is an extremely useful website which helps to enable people to choose healthier, cleaner and cheaper journeys. Did you know that you live 100m away from National Cycle route 45 which links Chester with Salisbury? What better way to spend a leisurely weekend than on this route, which is part of a well maintained collection of cycle paths across the UK. Fed up of getting stuck in traffic and being late for where you need to be? Want to find out what condition the roads are in before you leave the house? Don’t worry, your Travel Plan Coordinators have you covered again! Plan your trip before you leave by looking at some of these useful links that inform you of any accidents, roadworks or traffic jams that will affect your journey.  

Via Michelin will show you real time traffic flow in Amesbury – handy for when you are about to pop out and want to avoid any traffic!

Connecting Wiltshire will show you incidents that have occurred within the local area. Helpful for letting you know which routes to avoid before you set off on your journey!

BBC Travel Wiltshire is similar to above link, however information is shown in more depth and also shows you the progress of clearing any incidents that have occurred. Helpful for letting you know when it is safe to venture out again! 

What’s on in Amesbury?


Why not stay active? Amesbury and the surrounding local area has some great activities on offer for a mixture of ages and experiences.

Wiltshire Council offer Active Health sessions at Amesbury Leisure Centre, which aims to provide physical activity sessions to people of an older generation. The scheme includes a 12 week programme as well as Fall prevention classes which aim to improve strength, balance and confidence. Wiltshire Council also have a great selection on their website about upcoming events and activities. The site provides a list of things to do in Amesbury and the local surrounding areas and involves things such as society events, clubs to join, walking activities and much more.
