We’ll do this by providing you with up-to-date information on how to travel sustainably to access local facilities and public transport services. On this page you can find information on:

Your home is located close to the centre of Windlesham village, where you can find many key amenities including a pharmacy, a range of restaurants, cafes and pubs, a post office, and bus stops.

Local Pedestrian Network
There are plenty of things to see and do in your local area, so why not get out on foot and explore it? Walking has many benefits including:
- It’s free.
- Increasing your cardiovascular fitness
- Lowering anxiety and stress
- Boosting your energy and improving your mood
- Strengthening your bones, improving your balance and boosting your muscle power.
Windlesham Field of Remembrance is around a 14-minute walk from your house. It features 18 acres of fields and woodlands, home to many local sports teams, a children’s playpark and a welcoming café. Definitely somewhere to visit for your green space fix!
There are also plenty of Public Rights of Way in the local area including footpaths and bridleways, shown on the map below. Use these to get around your local area without having to worry about cars!

Walk to school: Valley End Church of England Infant School is only a 16 minute walk from your house. Simply turn left down Woodlands Lane and then left again at the end of the road. See the local map for details.
Walks for leisure: Fancy walking for leisure? The Windlesham Society have a large range of walks to try out around your local area. Visit the website: windleshamsociety.co.uk/windlesham-walks/ and try one or two of their routes out today, either alone, or with family or friends!
There are also a range of walking groups to get involved with. They are a great way to be social, meet new people and get out and about in the fresh air and the beautiful countryside.

Local cycle network
Cycling from Windlesham is quick and easy. Did you know that it is approximately a 10-minute cycle into Lightwater and a 15-minute cycle into Bagshot?
Many of the roads and lanes around Windlesham are quiet and the area is fairly flat, making it perfect for cycling.

Cycle to school: There are lots of schools nearby! Cycle to Valley End Infant School (in 6 minutes), Hammond Junior School (in Lightwater) in 11 minutes, and Charters Secondary School in 19 minutes. Saves you money on fuel, it’s better for the environment and it help keeps you and your children fit and healthy!

Travel by bus
The nearest bus stops to Crownfield Court for the White Bus 500 service are located on Updown Hill, adjacent to Windlesham Village Pharmacy, approximately a 6-minute walk from Crownfield Court, as shown on the local area map.
These bus stops are served by the 500 White Bus service which links Windlesham with Frimley and Staines. Some of the places on the route include:


There are 8 buses a day in each direction on Weekdays.
Buses to/from Sunningdale:
The first bus towards Sunningdale is at 06:55. The last bus towards Sunningdale is at 17:52. The last bus from Sunningdale to Windlesham departs Sunningdale Railway Station at 19:05.
Buses to/from Bagshot
The first bus towards Bagshot is 08:00. The last bus towards Bagshot is at 19:13. The last bus from Bagshot to Windlesham departs Bagshot Square at 17:52.
On Saturdays there is a reduced service, and sadly there is no service on Sundays. For full timetable information, fares, and routes, visit www.whitebus.co.uk/bus-services/500/. Get your ticket online and save yourself time and money!!
So why take the bus?
- The walk to and from the bus is a great way to incorporate some physical activity into your daily routine.
- Relax and read a book whilst you travel to your destination.
- Season tickets offer unlimited travel on services and can prove cheaper than running a car.
Travel by rail
Sunningdale Station (SNG) is located 3 miles from your home at Crownfield Court; accessible within a 20-minute cycle or 10-20 minute bus ride on the White Bus service 500.
Sunningdale has a range of facilities including:

- Refreshments
- Waiting room
- WiFi
Sunningdale is served by South Western Railway services to Reading and London Waterloo. Both Reading and London Waterloo provide connections to other rail services across the country.
At Feltham you can change for a bus link to Heathrow Airport!
As of May 2025, the current service frequency is as follows:

Car travel options
Car Sharing

Considering the national move towards hybrid and electric vehicles in the coming years, now is the time to make the switch and go electric!

Still need to drive your own car? There are many ways to help your fuel efficiency, which in turn saves you money on your fuel bill. Why not try some of the following techniques:
