Located within Newhaven, August Fields is within easy reach of a number of key amenities. These include Chapel Street Surgery, Boots Pharmacy, Newhaven Beach, Sainsburys and several other amenities. These facilities are highlighted within the Accessibility Map below.

  • Fire Beacon and South Downs Way Circular – starting point at South Downs National Park, 7.1km (approx. 2 hours 6 minutes)
  • Ouse Valley Walk – starting point at Ouse Valley, 5.5km (approx. 1 hour 13 minutes)
  • Firle Beacon Circular – staring point at South Downs National Park, 14.6km (approx. 4 hours 4 minutes)
  • Friston Forest, the Seven Sisters and Cuckmere Haven – starting point at Friston Forest, 31.1km (approx. 7 hours 8 minutes)

Spring Step Change Challenge

The Spring step count challenge is back from Monday 29th April 2024.
Here’s how you can be a part of it.

Local Walking Groups

Cycle Seahaven are an inclusive social cycling club based in the Seahaven area of East Sussex (Seaford, Newhaven and Peacehaven). Regular rides occur every week for people of all skills levels of experience. The aim of the club is to simply get people out on their bike to enjoy the experience and meet new people. Newhaven Cycle Network route 2 runs in the vicinity of your new home through Newhaven, connecting cyclists across the entire south coast.

Halfords Newhaven is your local bike shop and is accessible via the 12 and 14 bus services which stop directly outside The Drove Retail Park where Halfords is located.

Travel by Bus

Regular bus services provide August Fields with excellent links to facilities and amenities in the local and wider surrounding area, as well as to further pubic transport services. The most frequent service in the local area is the 12/12A Brighton & Hove bus service from Brighton to Eastbourne; with a service every 10 minutes Monday – Friday, and 20 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays. You can also catch the 14 service to Brighton and the 123 service to Lewes provided by Compass Travel.

The nearest bus stops to August Fields for services 12/12A, 14 and 123 are located on Brighton Road/A259, both within a 1-minute walk from your new home.

Travel by Rail

Newhaven Town Train Station is located approximately 1.4km east of your new home at August Fields; accessible within a 17-minute walk or a 4-minute cycle – with secure, monitored cycle storage available.

From Newhaven Town Train Station, Southern Railways services run on a frequent basis to key destinations such as Brighton (30 minutes) and London Victoria (1 hour and 36 minutes) with a change at Lewes.

Car Travel Options

Save money by sharing costs with other people – a commuter can typically save around £1,000 a year by car-sharing. Reduce stress and cut your carbon footprint at the same time. 

LiftShare Newhaven is a national organisation which allows its users to connect to other people taking similar routes, whether that be for work or leisure, in order to save money and reduce congestion. A travel voucher, up to the value of £50 is available once for each address*.
You can claim either a Halfords cycle voucher** or a Brighton & Hove bus ticket***

One claim per address for residents of August Fields can be made. If a claim has already been received for your address you will not be eligible to claim again. Please contact us to confirm your eligibility at travelplan@paulbashamassociates.com.

**Halford cycle voucher is £50 and only redeemable for purchases associated with cycling. Their terms and conditions are outlined on the voucher, which will be sent via post to the address given at August Fields.
***Brighton & Hove bus ticket offer is for adult ticket(s) only. The ticket(s) are up to the value of £50. The type of ticket is dictated by the bus operator and may vary over time. The voucher is likely to be in the form of an emailed code(s) and details of how to activate the code will be provided to any claimant.

Claim requests can take up to 1 month to be actioned. Vouchers are then processed by the supplier and this can take a further 2 months. The offers have an expiry date and no refunds, exchanges or returns are available.

The vouchers are offered by The Guinness Partnership as a gift and can be amended or stopped at any time.
