This website has been designed to provide you with up to date information of travel in your local areas, as well as information on local bus services, cycle routes, rail services and local amenities. On this page you can find information on:

Much of the information is provided through direct links to other websites, ensuring that the information we give, and you use, is as up to date as possible. The accessibility map below highlights all of the major amenities and points of interest that can be found in your local area.

Emsworth Town Centre is located approximately 1.5km away and is host to a wide array of facilities including pharmacies, retail stores, restaurants, a library and a post office. The most convenient ways of travelling to the town centre is by walking (16 minutes), cycling (6 minutes) and bus (10 minutes). The neighbouring village of Westbourne is located a convenient 5 minute cycle or 13 minute bus journey from The Haven. It provides a wide variety of services including a doctor’s surgery, pharmacies, restaurants and a post office.

Bus Services

The closest bus stops can be found on Southleigh Road, to the north east of the site, via a 2-minute walk. The services from this stop are run by First bus and include the Number 27 bus service. This bus service provides access to Rowlands Castle, Havant, Emsworth and Denvilles via Leigh Park, every 2 to 3 hours. Journeys into Havant last 14 minutes, making the bus an easy and efficient way of commuting. Check the First bus website for up to date timetable information.

Rail

Possbile the best way to travel from The Haven is through Emsworth Railway Station which is a 15 minute walk or 3 minute cycle. The train station contains a selection of facilities to make for easy, safe and convenient travelling. Facilities include: toilets, ticket office, step free access, CCTV, customer help points and car and cycle parking.

Emsworth Railway Station provides direct routes to:

  • Portsmouth (20 minutes)
  • Worthing (40 minutes)
  • Southampton Central (45 minutes)
  • Brighton (1 hour)
  • Eastleigh (1 hour 10 minutes)
  • London Victoria (1 hour 40 minutes)

With services from this station running twice per hour, the train is the perfect way to travel to work or a weekend trip to London! Cycle

Why not switch 4 wheels to 2 and cycle to work, for exercise or just for fun. Havant Borough Council have devised a map highlighting all the best cycling routes in your local area along with details on all local cycle facilities. Take a look at it here. 

In addition, the helpful map found on Sustrans shows the National Cycle Routes (NCR) in the surrounding area. The green routes show traffic free routes and the purple routes indicate on-road routes. The National Cycle Network 2 connects to numerous surrounding areas including Havant, Portsmouth, Chichester and Bognor Regis. NCR 22 is also accessible from the site and connects to Portsmouth and Peterfield.
