Car Travel
Car Sharing
We understand that sometimes driving is the only option. Therefore, using sustainable driving practices such as car sharing (including sharing a journey with a colleague or a friends) can help save you money and reduce your impact on the environment!
Why not give lift-sharing a go? The national Liftshare network allows you to find drivers or passengers to share your journey. This helps to save money, reduce congestion and allows you to meet new people.
Find out more at: https://liftshare.com/uk.
Electric Vehicles
Considering the national move towards hybrid and electric vehicles in the coming years, now is the time to make the switch and go electric!
Electric and hybrid vehicles are more affordable than you think and can offer remarkable benefits such as:
- Lower / no fuel costs
- Lower / no emissions tax
- Lower maintenance costs
- Eco-friendly with no emissions.
Highgrove has electric charging on site, but if you are out and about Zapmap provides useful information on public charging points. Visit www.zap-map.com/live/ to see your local charging points in Bosham and further afield.
Efficient Driving Tips
Still need to drive your own car? There are many ways to help your fuel efficiency, which in turn saves you money on your fuel bill. Why not try some of the following techniques:
- Remove unnecessary weight from your car such as roof racks or boxes
- Avoid breaking and accelerating hard by driving smoothly
- Limit the use of your air conditioning
- Check your tyres are fully inflated
- Stick to the speed limit – speeding often leads to higher fuel consumption

[KH1]Can we add in the benefits of walking., please
[KH2]This isn’t the easiest map to read. Might be one we come back to, if we can find a better base map. – the dotted blue line is largely lost for example. Also what are the dotted orange lines for?
[KH3]Do we need individual links or is the website below enough?
[LW4]Not to write it out, but just have the link embedded, easier than searching
[KH5]Can we relate this route to the map? Either that or the map is brought up and introduced as a summary of your local cycling routes with the following cycling routes and suggestions – or better worded cause what I’ve written sounds a bit meh
[KH6]This references an end date of Jan 2025. Assuming our details need updating. Stagecoach may have their own branded stuff.
