Walking
There are plenty of walks in your local area for you to explore!
Thorney Island Circular Walk If you love the sea views, why not try the Thorney Island circular walk. The walk starts along Queen Street, Emsworth and routes around the whole of Thorney Island, making the walk approximately 8.5 miles. There are plenty of refreshments along the way with cafes and pubs along the route.
If you’re wanting to get into walking or already have a passion, take a look at these groups which operate in your local area:

These groups are a great way to start a new hobby and meet likeminded people. Walking for Health is free to attend and suitable for all abilities. All walks are led by trained leaders who are there to offer support and information. Local walks to Southbourne include walks in Havant on Tuesday mornings and walks in Emsworth on Wednesday mornings.

Cycling
Cycling from Southbourne is quick and easy. Did you know that National Cycle Network (NCN) route 2 can be accessed approximately 1.3km south of your home. This route is a long-distance cycle route which runs in sections across the south coast between Kent and Cornwall. The section of the route close to your home connects you to Chichester in the east and Emsworth and Havant in the west.
NCN route 22 is also a long-distance route which runs between Brockenhurst and Banstead and can be accessed from Havant where it connects with NCN route 2.

Travelling by bus
Your local bus stop is Breach Avenue which is located around 350m (4-minute walk) from your home. Further services can be reached from Southbourne Railway Station bus stop (a 13-minute walk from your home) and St John’s Church bus stop (a 16-minute walk from your home). Southbourne Railway Station (SOB) is located approximately 1km from your home at The Orchards; accessible within a 12-minute walk or a 3-minute cycle
