If you are looking for things to do with your family and friends, both within your local area and a little further afield, why not visit the Day Out with The Kids website which can be found here.

Cycling:

Cycling from Windgreen Gardens is an alternative option from taking the private car. The topography of the area makes it a favourable option and coupled with the cycle routes and journeys available, we highly recommend getting out and about on your bike to explore your new area.

If you want an idea of some of the routes available and recommended in the area, visit the Komoot webpage here.

In addition to local cycle opportunities, Windgreen Gardens is located within a 12 minute cycle of National Cycle Network Route no.25. This route links with Frome and National Cycle Network Route no.24 at Longleat and runs south through Gillingham and Poole to Bournemouth. You can find out more about these routes here.

Why take the Bus?

There are many reasons why you should started considering using the bus, such as:
– The walk to and from the bus is a great way to incorporate some physical activity into your daily routine.
– You have the opportunity to relax whilst on your journey and could even proactively use your time, such as reading a book.
– Season tickets could offer unlimited travel services and can provide cheaper alternatives than running a car.
– Contributing towards cleaner air.

Sustainable Driving:

We understand that sometimes driving is the only option. Therefore, using sustainable driving practices such as car clubs or car sharing can help save you money and reduce your impact on the environment!

Why not give lift-sharing a go. Dorset’s scheme is part of the national Liftshare network which allows you to find drivers or passengers to share your journey. This helps to save money, reduce congestion and allows you to meet new people. Find out more here.
