Your Local Area
In Headington there are a number of amenities within walking distance of your accommodation, including supermarkets, a post office, pharmacy, coffee shops, places of worship, eateries and Libraries.

Local Pedestrian Network
Local Walking Routes
Beyond the city centre and Headington, there are excellent opportunities for you to escape the urban areas and take a long, rural walk. Most notably, Shotover Country Park is located approximately 2.4km east of your new home along Old Road. This is a large protected green area comprising of hills, woodland, valleys and grassland with 3 designated routes of varying distances, allowing you to take a short or long walk in the countryside, perfect for individuals, couples and groups of all ages and fitness levels.
Oxford Health Walks
Oxford Health Walks (OHW) is run by a group of volunteers and offers a programme of free health walks throughout Oxford and the outer city area. It’s a national network of short, group health walks that are delivered by local schemes and are normally 1-3 miles in length. It’s ideal if you are new to walking or recovering from an illness, or even if you just want to improve your fitness! Oxfordshire Walks App

Oxfordshire Walks is an app which uses a simple GPS-enabled map to provide its members with 200+ walks of varying distances, difficulties and landscapes. The app also tracks your progress offline so internet signal is not required en-route!
Local Cycle Network
Cycling from Ivy Lane is quick and easy. Did you know that it is approximately a 15-minute cycle into Oxford City Centre. There are excellent cycle facilities close to your new home, with many routes of which include cycle lanes, providing exceptional connections to local amenities and National Cycle Route 57.
The development is equipped with 279 secure cycle parking spaces and 95 visitor cycle parking spaces to support your cycling needs.
Did you know that Oxford University Hospitals also have a ‘Cycle2Work’ salary sacrifice scheme which you could be a part of? Ask your employer for more information.

Cycling Groups
Founded in 2016, Oxford Cycling Club is one of Oxford’s newest cycling clubs. Rides are held on Saturday mornings at 9am and are welcome to all cycle levels, with social events and friendly members to help. Become a member visit www.oxfordcyclingclub.co.uk
E-Scooters
The site is located within the operating area for the Oxford e-scooter trial. The nearest approved parking hub (20 spaces) is located within a 6-minute walk on Osler Road.
Travel by Bus
The nearest bus stop to your new home is ‘Manor Surgery (Stop J5)’ and is located approximately 270m south of Ivy Lane, composed of a single post with a flag and printed timetable. Further bus services are available from the Headington Shops, Sandfield Road and JR Hospital stops, all of which re located within a 10-minute walk.
Visitors can also access your new home via one of Oxford’s Park and Ride locations. Thornhill Park and Ride is located approximately 2.5km with the 400 service providing access to the HS2 bus stop at Headington shops which is just a 10-minute walk from your home.

Great News! The government had agreed a £3 bus fare cap on all single adult bus fares allowing you to take advantage of the initiative until at least the end of 2025!
Why take the bus?
- The walk to and from the bus is a great way to incorporate some physical activity into your daily routine
- Relax and read a book whilst you travel to your destination
- Season tickets offer unlimited travel on services and can prove cheaper than running a car

Travel by Rail
The closest railway station is Oxford Station located in the city centre approximately 4.9km west of your new home. This is most easily accessible via a short 10-minute walk to the Headington Shops Bus Stop, which provides access to the rail station via a 13-minute journey on the X20 bus service, which operates every 15-minutes on weekdays and every 30-minutes on weekends. Alternatively, the 14 bus service, which serves the John Radcliffe Hospital, also provides a direct service between the hospital and Oxford Station, with the journey taking approximately 32-minutes.

Alternatively, another train station is Oxford Parkway located in north Oxford, approximately 6km north of your new home. This is directly accessible via the 700 bus service (from the JR Hospital Entrance) taking roughly 26 mins to get from door to door.

Why take the train?
- Can include a walk or cycle to the station or incorporate a link trip with the bus.

Car sharing

Co Wheels
Oxford Co Wheels is a large car club scheme offering electric and hybrid vehicles at convenient locations across the city. It allows members to book a vehicle at any of the given locations on the map before then arriving at the location and accessing the car using the members card. The closest car club vehicles are located in Headington Car Park, Sandfield Road, Latimer Road and Gipsy Lane Car Park.
