Pedestrian Travel

Your home is surrounded by a number of public footpaths and bridleways. These are presented in the map below.

Alongside the number of public rights of way to explore, there are many scenic walking routes near your home, such as around the Longham Lakes, or along the River Stour. There are 9 mapped routes are available on the West Parkley Parish Council website https://westparley-pc.gov.uk/walks/walks. These range from 1 mile walks to 10 mile walks, available for a range of abilities.

East Dorset Health Walks

The perfect way to get out, explore your local area and meet new people! East Dorset Health Walks are led by trained volunteers, are free of charge and no need to book. 

  • Tuesdays – The Angel Inn, Ferndown – 10-11am
  • Wednesdays – Visitor Centre, Moors Valley Country Park – 10-11am

National Cycle Network

Route 256 is 5km northwest (20-minute cycle) from Kingsmere Park connecting Wimborne Minster to Ringwood via Ham Lane’s off-road cycle route.

Travel by Bus

Why take the bus?

The nearest bus stops to Kingsmere Park for services to Bournemouth, Bournemouth Airport, Corfe Mullen, St Peter’s School, Wimborne, Castlepoint, Brockenhurst College and Northbourne are located on New Road. ‘Parley Cross Roads’ bus stops are 2 minutes walk south of the Elizabeth Way/Christchurch Road junction. ‘Dudsbury Gardens’ bus stops are 2-3 minutes walk south of the Elizabeth Way/New Road junction.

Bournemouth Railway Station (BMH) is located approximately a 31-minute cycle or a 27-minute bus ride on the 13/13a from your home at Kingsmere Park.
