Local Area

You could travel into Eastleigh Town Centre, to either Eastleigh or Airport Parkway Stations, or some of your local leisure opportunities! See the map below for some of the amenities and routes on your doorstep! With all these options, it will be easy to get out and about in your local area and travel via bike or on foot.

Within the site itself, the new local community centre has now opened! The YMCA Eastleigh (https://ymca-fg.org/eastleigh) is the first building in Hampshire to combine a nursery, community centre, and café. Supporting local residents as well as the wider Eastleigh town, the centre delivers fun school holiday activities and an exciting event programme with something for all ages.

Beyond this you have an approximate 25 minute walk to get into Eastleigh Town Centre which provides a comprehensive range of amenities including The Swan Shopping Centre, a variety of restaurants, pharmacies, places of worship and leisure facilities (including a cinema and bowling alley). Whilst we support the delivery of the Travel Plan for the development we will be sending out travel surveys for you to complete which helps us to understand more about your current travel habits and what may encourage you to use alternative modes. Cycling

If you fancy getting out on your bike, cycle routes in the area make your trip an easy way to travel. The map below shows cycle routes within your area.

This handy map is found on Sustrans website and is helpful in finding cycle routes in any given area. The green shows traffic free routes, whereas the purple routes are on-road.

Bus

As the local bus network offers convenient routes to most local destinations, with frequent services, could this be the travel mode for you?

Buses run regularly all throughout the day from a number of local bus stops, so whether you need to get to work, the shops or pick up the children from school, the bus provides comprehensive access to many destinations.

There nearest bus stops to you are from Chestnut Avenue (Cricketers Arms and Monks Way) and Stoneham Lane (Concorde Club and St Nicolas Church). The location of these stops is shown on the map below, whilst the table provides a summary of services available from these stops.

Rail

Southampton Airport Parkway (SOA) Train Station is approximately 2km from the centre of North Stoneham Park and is accessible via a 25-minute walk or 7-minute cycle through both Avenue Park and Lakeside Country Park.

The station is well equipped to suit your every need, with 236 cycle storage racks, 900 car parking spaces, customer help points, a manned ticket office (7 days a week) and even a coffee shop.

Southampton Airport Parkway has great access to lots of stations including Southampton Central, Weymouth, Manchester and London Waterloo. Some of the destinations along these routes include Bournemouth, Winchester and Oxford. This should make your commute, weekend away or day trip as easy as possible.

Car Travel

If you like driving and you cant see any alternative way to travel, why not try to save some money by joining Hants Carshare. Here you can find drivers or passengers to share your journeys with. Eastleigh also operate a Co-wheels car club which is a pay-as-you-go car hire scheme. You can book a car online or by phone and use an issued smart card to access the vehicles. All you have to pay for is hire time and distance. For more information, visit www.co-wheels.org.uk/eastleigh.
