There are two bus stops both within 8 minutes’ walk from Madgwick Park which are located on Stane Street and by Chichester Park Hotel. Within close proximity to the site is three supermarkets (Sainsburys, Lidl and Aldi), Portfield Retail Park, John Lewis, McDonald’s, Homebase and various other shops. These are all within a 10 minute walk from Madgwick Park.
A wider range of services can be found in Chichester City Centre which include banks, restaurants, pharmacies, shops, cafes and cinemas.

Taking part in a walking group is a great opportunity for socialising and meeting new people! Chichester has several walking groups such as:
- Chichester Walkers – A local, voluntary, walking group with arranged walks every 2 weeks. Nearly all walks are circular, varying from between 4 and 5 miles. Visit https://chichesterwalkers.co.uk/

With so many great cycling routes on your doorstep why not put on your cycle helmet and get active! Here are some Autumn cycling tips for our journeys:
- Wear appropriate, non-slip footwear.
- A thick pair of gloves, but make sure you can still brake safely.
- Check the weather beforehand and dress appropriately or wear layers.
- After riding in bad weather, give your bike a quick rinse to remove any dirt to keep it in good condition.
- Take it slow if it’s cold outside, your body will take a minute to warm up.
Travel by Bus
Amazing News! The Governments £3 bus fare scheme (single adult tickets) has now been introduced, but remember to check before you travel if it applies to your journey. It will run till at least March 2027!
The local bus network offers convenient routes to most local destinations, with frequent services, this could be the travel mode for you. Buses run regularly all through the day, so whether you need to get to work, the shops or pick up the children from school the bus provides comprehensive access to many destinations.
Your nearest bus stop is on Stane Street, called ‘Madgwick Park’, around a 3-5 minute walk from your home. Service 55 operated by Stagecoach offers a half hourly service to Chichester Bus Station,, St Richards Hospital and Tangmere. Travel by Rail
Chichester Train Station is located approximately 2 miles southwest of your home at Madgwick Park, accessible within a 33 minute walk or a 13 minute cycle. Station facilities include: CCTV, ATM machine, toilets, 180 cycle storage spaces, a waiting room, WiFi, telephones and a café.
From Chichester Train Station, Southern Railways services run on a frequent basis to key destinations such as London Victoria (1h 30), Southampton (55 mins), Brighton (1h) and Gatwick Airport (1h).
