The Beeches is located within approximately 1km of Bracklesham Bay seafront. A number of facilities and amenities are available on-route to the seafront including bus stops, a convenience store, a public house and independent retail stores reflective of their location.
In addition, The Beeches is located within a 22-minute walk (6-minute cycle) of Cakeham Road, East Wittering which provides a more comprehensive range of facilities and amenities including a pharmacy, local supermarkets, doctor’s surgery, post office and dentist.

There are also a number of Public Rights of Way (PRoW) near you, with the closest along the southern tip of the site, providing a route to the seafront. The map below shows the local PRoW (purple) and Bridleways (Green) in the area.

Bracklesham and Chichester in general benefits from a gentle topography, making it attractive for everyone to get out on their bikes, no matter your age or ability.

Travelling by Bus
Why take the bus?
- The walk to and from the bus is a great way to incorporate some physical activity into your daily routine
- Relax and read a book whilst you travel to your destination
- Season tickets offer unlimited travel on services and can prove cheaper than running a car
As the local bus network offers convenient routes to most local destinations, with frequent services, could this be the travel mode for you?
Don’t forget! The Department for Transport’s £2 bus fare scheme has been extended – now ending on the 31st December 2024.
Buses run regularly all throughout the day, so whether you need to get to work, the shops or pick up the children from school, the bus provides an alternative to the private car.

Buying and using a ticket on the app is quick and easy to do. It’s faster and more convenient than buying on the bus because you don’t have to wait for the driver to issue your ticket and process your payment. Once your ticket is purchased you can activate it once you are ready to travel. No need to worry about change you can pay safely and securely using your card, PayPal or Apple Pay or Android Play.

Travelling by Rail
Chichester Railway Station is located 10km north west of the development site and is accessible via a 30 minute cycle or by bus routes no.52 and no.53.
The station is well equipped to meet your every need, with 180 cycle storage spaces, a manned ticket office (Monday – Sunday), CCTV, a waiting room and step free access.
Chichester Railway Station has great access to lots of stations including Littlehampton, Portsmouth Harbour, Southampton Central, Brighton and London Victoria via Horsham.
National Rail offers a text service for travellers on the move. More information can be found here. You can also create a pocket timetable here which allows you to create a personalised timetable for up to 3 selected departures and/or arrivals including Mondays-Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The timetable can be downloaded as a PDF and printed.
Did you know – You can also save money on rail travel when you purchase a Network Railcard. Railcards have an annual cost of £30 and can save you up to 1/3 off most rail fares (subject to Terms and Conditions). For more information and to purchase your railcard click here.
Car Travel Options
If you like driving and you can’t see any alternative way to travel, why not try to save some money by joining the West Sussex Car Sharing scheme. This is a well-established scheme that can help you to meet new people in your neighbourhood and save money at the same time. Local Travel News
National Rail Enquiries – to search for engineering works on rail routes. Search via route or operator.
Chichester District Council – Provides up-to-date news and information regarding travel related issues.
West Sussex County Council – The council website provides up-to-date traffic and travel news, including planned roadworks and sporting events which may force closures to the surrounding roads.

Travel Vouchers
Each address is entitled to claim up to 2 ‘vouchers’ for bus or cycle use if no previous resident at the address has claimed. The two ‘vouchers’ total £500 to support sustainable travel use. Select from:
- Stagecoach bus ticket up to the value of £250*
- A £250 Halfords voucher that can be used for cycling related purchases**.
- West Sussex County Council Cycle training courses up to the value of £250***
If a claim has already been received for your address you will not be eligible to claim again. To confirm whether you are eligible for the travel voucher offer please email us at: travelplan@paulbashamassociates.com. Terms & Conditions:
Sustainable Travel Vouchers are a gift from Miller Homes and the offer(s) may be amended or removed at any time.
Two claims per address can be made. If a claim has already been received for your address you will not be eligible to claim again. Please contact us to confirm your eligibility at travelplan@paulbashamassociates.com.
*Stagecoach offer is for adult tickets only. Stagecoach provide tickets up to the value of £250. The type of ticket is dictated by Stagecoach and may vary over time. The voucher will be in the form of an emailed code(s) and the user will need to download the Stagecoach app to access.
**Halford voucher is £250 and only redeemable for purchases associated with cycling. Their terms and conditions are outlined on the voucher, which will be sent via post.
***The cycle training course is provided through West Sussex County Council and the voucher will cover at least 4 adult training sessions, up to the value of £250.
